x3 National Finalist
We’re Hypernova, an experienced F1 in schools team. Our team have three characteristics that define us: dedication, talent and passion. These have helped us on our F1 in schools journey, and will hopefully lead us to the World Finals. As a team we strive to positively represent Wales and its national language, welsh in the STEM industry and encourage young people to have a go at this competition and other STEM opportunities.

F1 in schools is a fantastic experience where we've made new friends, had lots of fun and learnt more about STEM! It's inspired many of us to consider careers in the industry and we encourage primary schools to give it a go!
Hypernova
History
We’re Hypernova, an F1 in Schools Team. We are competing in our third season in 2023 in Professional Class, but our team has evolved and gained many successes in our previous years!
2019
Apex Epsilon, an Entry Class team won the Judge's Choice Award at the Welsh Regionals. Our Project Manager was a part of this team.
2020
October - Hypernova formed and we began our journey in Development Class!
2021
July - We had our Welsh Regionals in which we came:
- 3rd Racing Development
- Best Engineered Car Development
- Welsh Development Regional Champions
We then were through to the UK Nationals!
October - UK Nationals, our successes included:
- Nominated for the Development Sponsorship and Marketing Award
- 3rd Podium UK Nationals Development
2022
May - Visit to the Senedd to present our work at a STEM event with EESW.

F1 In Schools
F1 in schools is a competition for schoolchildren to design and manufacture a miniature car. The challenge is to create the car whilst thinking about marketing, sponsorship and following the complex set of rules.
It's one of the biggest STEM in schools competitions across the globe and teams of 3-6 compete against each other to reach the World Finals.
It's a fantastic opportunity and we encourage schools to submit teams of their own. Who knows? Maybe your team will be the next World Champions.
