Hi, I'm Carys and I'm the Project Manager. My job is to make sure that everything is running smoothly and to help the others should they need it. Using my organisational skills and prior communication skills as a Finance Manager I help the team reach our goals.
Catrin Wood
Head of Research
Hello I'm Catrin and I'm the Head of Reseach. My role is to research the physics, aerodynamics and mathematical theories behind the car. I help oversee that our research helps our car develop. In the 2023 UK National Finals I was shortlisted for the Girls on Track Award.
Pacha Pritchard
Lead Manufacturer
Hello, my name is Pacha and I am the Lead Manufacturer of Hypernova. My job is to manufacture the car itself and to work with others, such as Alffi and Rhys to physically test and scrutineer the car. I also oversee the team's Sustainability Strategy, which is one of our core values.
Rhys Wijeratne
Design Engineer
Hello, my name is Rhys and I am the Design Engineer. My role is to lead the design process of the car, working with all members to design, test and manufacture a car. Our skills as a team lead us to winning the Best Engineered Car and Fastest Car.
Mathew Thomas
CAD Designer
Hello! My name is Mathew and I am the team's CAD Designer. I am in charge of designing the car on paper and digitally, and adding/changing any adjustments to the car. I also create our Engineering Drawings and Renders.
Alffi Jones
Head of Testing
Hello I'm Alffi and I'm the Head of Testing for Team Hypernova. My responsibilites are to find innovative ways to test our car in person and virtually to create results that will aid in the design development of the car to make it as fast as possible.
Ramiro Asby
Past Team Member
Ramiro was our original Project Manager in 2020 before becoming the Finance Manager in 2022. He was our founding member and a key contributor in our success across the years. We wish him the best in what he decides to do next!
Sam Talfan-Davies
Past Team Member
Sam was our Manufacturer for two years before becoming our Marketing Manager in 2023. His variety of talents meant that he aided us in the engineering and enterprise aspects of the competition and we wouldn't have succeeded without him! We are sure he will do amazingly in the next thing he puts his mind to.
Tom Mifsud
Past Team Member
Tom was our Physics and Aerodynamics Specialist. His role was to research the physics and aerodynamics behind the car, and help with designing the car. He was vital in helping reach UK Nationals in Development Class and we wish him the best outside of F1.
